How to Apply

For students requiring a visa, we will not consider pre-acceptance applications received after June 1, 2018.

Before applying

First, check whether you hold the prerequisites to enroll and if you have the necessary background knowledge.

Application procedure

The application procedure is divided in two stages: pre-acceptance and pre-enrollment.

1. Pre-acceptance

The aim at this stage is to check that you hold the minimal prerequisites deemed necessary to proficiently attend the program.

(The folder with your documents must always include a copy of your passport.  If you declare that you are a non-EU citizen legally resident in Italy, then you must provide evidence for it, e.g., include a copy of your residence permit).

We also ask you to give us access to a shared online folder (e.g. Google Drive) with a copy of you BSc degree and the list of exams, a short CV and a copy of your passport page with photo and ID data. Please use only the PDF format.

From Pre-acceptance to Pre-enrollment

Your application will be evaluated. We may also set up an interview.

In case of positive outcome, you will receive a pre-acceptance letter from us.

2. Pre-enrollment

At this stage, you have got a pre-acceptance letter from us. The procedure depends on your citizenship and the country where you obtain your bachelor.

EU citizen or legally resident non EU citizen with a BSc from an Italian university

You are welcome to pre-enrol online from July. We encourage you to do it before October, when classes start.

Actual enrolment, including payment of university fee, if due, will actually take place in the Fall.

EU citizen or legally resident non EU citizen with a BSc from a foreign university

Contact our international student office by sending an e-mail to sass@unige.it and set-up an appointment.
The documents required to pre-enroll are:

  1. Bachelor degree (original or certified photocopy)
  2. Official translation in Italian of 1.
  3. Dichiarazione di valore (issued by the Italian embassy or Consulate in the country in which the Bachelor has been obtained)
  4. Certificate  with the detailed subjects and exams taken to  obtain the degree (original)
  5. Official translation in Italian of 4. (not needed if in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese)
  6. Syllabus (confirmed with the original stamp of the University on each page) of each exam included in the foreign curriculum.
  7. Official translation in Italian of 6. (not needed if in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese)

Keep in mind that  pre-enrollment starts in July.

Enrollment, including payment of university fee, if due, will actually take place in the Fall.

Non EU citizen living abroad

Bring the documents listed below to the Italian embassy or consulate nearest to you before July 20, 2018.

  1. Bachelor degree (original or certified photocopy)
  2. Official translation in Italian of 1.
  3. Certificate  with the detailed subjects and exams taken to  obtain the degree (original)
  4. Official translation in Italian of 3. (not needed if in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese)
  5. Syllabus (confirmed with the original stamp of the University on each page) of each exam included in the foreign curriculum.
  6. Official translation in Italian of 5. (not needed if in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese)

Keep in mind that the outcome of this stage is up to our national contact point and does not depend on us.

In case of positive outcome our administration (and you) will be notified that you have been pre-enrolled.

Enrollment, including payment of university fee, if due, will actually take place in the Fall.
